The Ocean in Me ...

We couldn't take the kids to California and not show them the ocean! So we headed to Huntington Beach with the longest pier in California. At the end of the pier is Ruby's Diner - you should plan to eat there if you are ever in the area. The wind was really blowing but they had fun in the water. http://www.cheriecall.com/mp3/ocean/TheOceanInMe.mp3

Holy Temples on Mount Zion

The fifth temple we saw was the San Diego, CA temple - I have already posted about that so we move on to the last temple we visited, the Newport Beach, CA temple. We came from San Diego and drove up the Pacific Coast Highway. That's a pretty drive, right along the ocean. I've just about run out of songs about temples so no more temple entries for now :)

Rise Ye Saints and Temples Enter

The fourth temple we visited was the Los Angeles, CA temple. It's not to hard to find since it is right on Santa Monica Boulevard. It had been a while since I had been there. It seems like the areas around the temple that were not so good have been cleaned up a bit.

How Beautiful Thy Temples, Lord

The third temple we visited was Redlands, CA. Thanks go to my boss who told me about this temple right before we left, I didn't know there was a temple in Redlands. It was very peaceful and the grounds were beautiful. We all really liked this temple.

God is in His Holy Temple

The second temple we visited was the Las Vegas, Nevada temple. This temple is a little hard to find, thankfully we had smart phones that showed us the way. (Ok - I can't help but see the analogy between this example and us using the scriptures as a guide to find our way spiritually to the temple) I only took a picture of us in front of the sign but have included this picture found on the web.

Families Can Be Together Forever

As requested here are pictures of the other temples ... starting with the St. George, Utah temple. I had been there before so I didn't take very many pictures.

I love to see the temple ...

Well, make that 6 temples that we saw on our trip. St. George, Las Vegas, Redlands, L.A., San Diego and Newport Beach. The temple in the picture is the San Diego temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - one a lot of people refer to as the "castle" temple since it looks like a castle.

And yes, my title is once again from a song. Maybe all my blog entries will have a reference to a song since I like music so much!

A dream is a wish your heart makes ...

One of my favorite Disney songs and what a better title for a DISNEYLAND entry! I hope I can use the excuse of going on vacation as the reason I haven't updated my blog. So, I had never been to Disneyland with 4 kids and wandered what kind of adventure it would be. 8, 6, almost 4 and 18 months ~ the adults were outnumbered. There was nothing else to do but head directly to fantasy land. I can now say I may have ridden every kiddie ride at Disneyland(I think there are a few more left at California Adventure).

We were very lucky to meet the very reclusive Donald Duck and get a picture and his autograph. The weather was just about perfect except for some wind. I think the only one that didn't have fun at Disneyland was my brother-in-law Jeramie. There were too many people there for that Idaho boy!
Luckily we had a little bit more planned for the trip ...
